Workshops for Students

lcab

Conference organizers are happy to work with both students and educators on making their participation in the symposium possible. We will be hosting a series of workshops at La Casa Azul Bookstore  in East Harlem specifically for high school students who would like some more help on how to get started.  Workshop dates are Thursdays in May, the 9th, 16th, and 26th, from 4pm to 6pm.  Email lacazaazulbookstore@gmail.com to RSVP.

If you are a high school student, then you can take part in these free workshops provided by the conference organizers in association with the CUNY Institute for Mexican Studies.  These workshops will help students relate the conference experience to college readiness, provide an introduction to Latina/o and Latin American Studies, and offer direct support and suggestions on research methods, resources, and research writing.

We are working on bringing workshops to the other boroughs as well. Once those locations and dates are confirmed, we will post that information here.

If your class, school, or organization would like to host a workshop or workshop series, contact Gabriel Higuera at ghiguera@gc.cuny.edu.
